Gearbox files · Online · Worldwide
DSG and gearbox (TCU) files for dealers, worldwide.
Platinum Tune supplies gearbox (TCU) tuning files to dealers worldwide. Files for automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes, uploaded and returned the same way as ECU files. Tell the file desk in the portal which gearbox the car has, and we'll confirm the job before you read it.
Engine files too? Car and van ECU files.

Master or slave
Sending a TCU read from a master or a slave tool
The job is the same either way: read the gearbox, upload the read, download your file. What changes is who can open the read.
From a master tool
- Save the TCU read exactly as the tool made it, and don't open or change it before you upload.
- If the tool saves more than one file for the gearbox, keep them all and ask the file desk which to upload.
- When your file is ready, write it back with the same tool you read the gearbox with.
From a slave tool
- A slave is linked to one master, and its reads are locked to that master.
- Tell us which master your tool is linked to before you upload anything.
- If it's linked to another supplier, ask us on WhatsApp what moving it involves before you apply.
- Write the file back with the same tool you read the gearbox with.
Not sure which you have? Pick “Not sure” on the application form and we'll check it with you on WhatsApp.
How it works
From your TCU read to a file on the car.
The same four steps as an engine file, all through the dealer portal, with the file desk in the portal when a job needs a conversation.
Step 1: Apply
A short form. Tell us your tool and how many files you do a month.
Step 2: Add credit
Create your dealer portal login, then top up when you need files.
Step 3: Upload your read
Send the original read from your tool, with the car's details.
Step 4: Download and write
Your calibrated file comes back in the portal. Write it to the car.

What to send with a TCU read
- The original TCU read, saved exactly as your tool made it
- Make, model, engine and gearbox
- The TCU, as your tool shows it
- Your tool, master or slave, and how you read it: OBD or directly on the TCU
- What's been done to the engine: stock, tuned by us or tuned elsewhere
- Anything already changed on the gearbox or the car
Gearbox tuned before? Tell us before you upload, and send the original TCU file if you or the last tuner kept it.
Reviews
What do dealers say about us?
I've had the chance to work with Platinum Tune on more than 10 different cars, and honestly, the results have been consistently impressive.
From the very first car, I noticed the difference — the tunes are clean, smooth, and well-balanced, with great attention to detail. What really stood out to me is that the results weren't just good on one specific car; I experienced the same level of quality across more than 10 vehicles.
After trying them on multiple cars, I can confidently say that the quality and consistency are what impressed me the most. Great work, great results, and definitely a tuner I'd trust with my cars.
Lot of platforms can remap your file and send it back, but rarely you can find someone to follow your process aftersales.I tried these guys several times, they will make sure not you, but your client is highly satisfied. Highly recommended
I’ve been using this company more than 4 years. They are so quick, so good. Never had a problem with the files. Highly recommend for any make of the cars.

Questions from dealers
What do dealers ask about gearbox files?
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask support in the portal.
Something else? Ask support in the portal
Which gearboxes do you do files for?
Automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes, including DSG. Every gearbox and TCU is different, so tell the file desk in the portal which one the car has and we'll confirm it before you read it.
Does the engine need a file too?
Tell us what's been done to the engine, and the file desk will tell you what that car needs. If you're sending an engine read for the same car, say so when you upload.
Which tools can read the TCU?
Can I send a TCU read from a master or a slave tool?
Pick master or slave on the application form, or “Not sure” if you don't know, and we'll confirm on WhatsApp how your tool works with us. A slave's reads are locked to the master it's linked to, so tell us which master that is.
Which TCU file do I upload?
The TCU read exactly as your tool saved it, with the car's details. If the tool saved more than one file for the gearbox, keep them all and ask the file desk which one to upload.
How do I write the gearbox file back?
Download it from the dealer portal and write it with the same tool you read the gearbox with.
How long does a gearbox file take?
Files are usually back within 30 minutes during desk hours. File desk hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm; Saturday, 9am to 4pm; Sunday, closed (UK time).
Why don't you show prices?
Every car and gearbox is different, so a price list would be wrong for most jobs. Ask on WhatsApp and we'll send your dealer rate.
