Master or slave
Sending reads from a master or a slave Autotuner
The job is the same either way: read the car, upload the read, download your file. What changes is who can open the read.
From a master Autotuner
- An Autotuner master handles file encryption and decryption, and works on its own.
- Save the read exactly as the tool made it, and don't open or change it before you upload.
- If the tool saves more than one file for the car, keep them all and ask the file desk which to upload.
- When your file is ready, write it back with the same tool you read the car with.
From a slave Autotuner
- An Autotuner slave can't handle file encryption and decryption on its own: its master does that.
- A slave is linked to one master, and its reads are locked to that master.
- Tell us which master your Autotuner is linked to before you upload anything.
- If it's linked to another supplier, ask us on WhatsApp what moving it involves before you apply.
- Write the file back with the same tool you read the car with.
Not sure which you have? Pick “Not sure” on the application form and we'll check it with you on WhatsApp.
How it works
From your Autotuner read to a file on the car.
The same four steps as every file, all online through the dealer portal, with the file desk in the portal when a job needs a conversation.
Step 1: Apply
A short form. Tell us your tool and how many files you do a month.
Step 2: Add credit
Create your dealer portal login, then top up when you need files.
Step 3: Upload your read
Send the original read from your tool, with the car's details.
Step 4: Download and write
Your calibrated file comes back in the portal. Write it to the car.

What to send with your Autotuner read
- The original read, saved exactly as your Autotuner made it
- Make, model, engine and gearbox
- The ECU, as your tool shows it
- Master or slave
- How you read it: OBD, bench or boot
- The work you want: performance, economy or gearbox
- Anything already changed on the car, hardware or software
Car tuned before? Tell us before you upload, and send the original file if you or the last tuner kept it.

Reviews
What do dealers say about us?
I've had the chance to work with Platinum Tune on more than 10 different cars, and honestly, the results have been consistently impressive.
From the very first car, I noticed the difference — the tunes are clean, smooth, and well-balanced, with great attention to detail. What really stood out to me is that the results weren't just good on one specific car; I experienced the same level of quality across more than 10 vehicles.
After trying them on multiple cars, I can confidently say that the quality and consistency are what impressed me the most. Great work, great results, and definitely a tuner I'd trust with my cars.
Lot of platforms can remap your file and send it back, but rarely you can find someone to follow your process aftersales.I tried these guys several times, they will make sure not you, but your client is highly satisfied. Highly recommended
I’ve been using this company more than 4 years. They are so quick, so good. Never had a problem with the files. Highly recommend for any make of the cars.

Questions from dealers
What do dealers ask about Autotuner files?
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask support in the portal.
Something else? Ask support in the portal
Do you supply tuning files from Autotuner reads?
Yes. Autotuner is one of the tools we work with. Upload the read to the dealer portal and download your file when it's ready, from anywhere in the world. If a job is new to you, tell the file desk in the portal about the car first and we'll confirm it there.
Which ECUs can you do from Autotuner reads?
Engine (ECU) and gearbox (TCU) control units in cars and vans. Which ECUs your Autotuner can read depends on the ECU and on how your tool is set up, so we don't publish a list that might not match yours. Send the make, model and engine, and the ECU as your tool shows it, to support in the portal, and we'll confirm the job before you read the car.
Can I apply with a master or a slave Autotuner?
Pick master or slave on the application form, or “Not sure” if you don't know, and we'll confirm on WhatsApp how your Autotuner works with us. A slave's reads are locked to the master it's linked to, so tell us which master that is.
Can an Autotuner slave open its own reads?
No. An Autotuner slave is guided and supported, but can't handle file encryption and decryption on its own. Upload the read exactly as the tool saved it, and tell us which master it's linked to.
My Autotuner is a slave linked to another supplier. What now?
Ask us on WhatsApp what moving it involves before you apply.
Which file do I upload from my Autotuner?
The read exactly as your Autotuner saved it, with the car's details. If the tool saved more than one file for the car, keep them all and ask the file desk which one to upload.
How do I write the file back with my Autotuner?
Download it from the dealer portal and write it with the same Autotuner you read the car with.
Can I order gearbox files from an Autotuner read?
Yes, for automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes, where your Autotuner can read the gearbox's control unit (TCU). Tell the file desk which gearbox the car has first. More about gearbox (TCU) files.
How long does a file take?
Files are usually back within 30 minutes during desk hours. File desk hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm; Saturday, 9am to 4pm; Sunday, closed (UK time).
What files can I order from an Autotuner read?
Performance (Stage 1 and Stage 2), economy and gearbox (TCU) files for cars and vans. Other calibration options: ask support in the portal.
Why don't you show prices?
Every car and ECU is different, so a price list would be wrong for most jobs. Ask on WhatsApp and we'll send your dealer rate.
