What it is

What does a van remap change?

A working van spends its day loaded, in traffic and on short runs. We tune vans for economy and drivability: the calibration is aimed at smoother pulling, especially with a load on, and better fuel use, not at outright power.

Fuel use depends on the van, the load, the route and the driver, so we don't promise a saving. When we quote, we tell you what's typical for your van.

Park Royal is a few miles from Unit 11, Wembley Park Business Centre. Fleets can bring vans in one at a time, or we can come to your yard anywhere in London with mobile remapping (send your postcode to check), so the rest keep working.

Is it right for my van?

A good fit if

  • Vans that carry a load every working day.
  • Vans covering a lot of miles in traffic, on short runs or on the North Circular.
  • Small fleets that want each van quoted, and done at Unit 11 or at the yard around the working week.

Not the right job if

  • You're after more power for its own sake: this service is about economy and drivability.
  • The van has a warning light on: start with diagnostics.
  • The van is leased and the agreement doesn't allow changes: check with the leasing company first.

On the day

What happens on the day?

At Unit 11, Wembley Park Business Centre, or at your door with mobile remapping: we check each van first, keep its original file, and only then tune it. We tell you how long each van will take when we quote.

  1. Step 1: Check the van

We check your van over before we touch its software.

  2. Step 2: Read and back up

We read your original file and keep a copy before we start.

  3. Step 3: A file for your van

We prepare a calibration for your engine and gearbox.

  4. Step 4: Write and test

We write the file to the van and test that it runs as it should.

  5. Step 5: Handover

We hand the van back and answer any questions you have.

The honest bit

Good to know before you book.

Running a fleet

Send all the regs in one WhatsApp message and we'll quote for each van. If the vans are leased or on finance, check the agreement allows modifications, and tell your fleet insurer before the work is done.

Warranty

If your van is under a manufacturer or dealer warranty, read the terms before you book. A warranty provider can turn down claims on parts a remap affects, such as the engine or gearbox.

Questions

Questions about van and fleet remapping.

Straight answers, including why there's no price on this page.

Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp

How much is a van remap?

There's no fixed price: we quote for your van, because the price is set by the van, its engine and gearbox, the ECU it uses, how many vans you'd like doing and each van's condition. Every van is different, so we don't publish prices. Send us your reg on WhatsApp and we'll quote for your van.

Will it save fuel?

It can, depending on the van, the load, the route and the driver. We tune vans for economy and drivability, and we won't promise a fuel figure we haven't measured on your van.

Can you do several vans?

Yes. Send the regs in one WhatsApp message and we'll quote for each van and agree times, at Unit 11 or at your yard with mobile remapping.

Does a remap change how much the van can carry?

No. A remap doesn't change the van's weight limits. They stay as shown on the van's plate and in its documents.

Our vans are leased. Is that a problem?

Check the lease or finance agreement first. Some don't allow modifications without the owner's permission.

How long does it take?

We tell you how long it will take when we quote, so you can plan your day: it depends on the van and the work. For a fleet, we can agree times van by van.

Will my van still pass its MOT?

A remap doesn't change the MOT test itself: the van still has to pass the same checks as any other van, including the emissions test. We do performance, economy and gearbox tuning only, set up for everyday driving. What the MOT checks.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. Please tell your insurer about any remap. Insurers treat a remap as a modification, so let yours know before the work is done, not after.

Will it affect my warranty?

It can: if your van is under a manufacturer or dealer warranty, the provider can turn down claims on parts the work affects, such as the engine or gearbox. Read your warranty terms before you book, and ask the provider if you're not sure.
