What it is

What does an economy remap change?

An economy remap is a calibration aimed at smoother delivery and better fuel use in everyday driving. Instead of chasing the most power, the aim is an engine that pulls well at lower revs, so you can change up sooner and cruise more easily.

Savings depend on the car, your routes and how you drive, so we don't promise a figure. When we quote, we tell you what's typical for your car.

Is it right for my car?

A good fit if

  • You drive a lot of miles, for work or a long commute.
  • You'd like the car to feel smoother and easier to drive, rather than faster.
  • Your car is standard and runs well, with no warning lights on.

At Unit 11

Unit 11, Wembley Park Business Centre, North End Road, Wembley HA9 0AS. Bring the car in and we tell you how long it will take when we quote.

At your door

We bring the bench to your home or work, anywhere in London: the same tools and the same checks as at the unit. Send your postcode and we'll confirm.

The honest bit

Good to know before you book.

How you drive matters

Fuel use depends on the car, the route and the driver as much as on the calibration. That's why we tell you what's typical for your car, and never promise a saving.

Warranty

If your car is under a manufacturer or dealer warranty, read the terms before you book. A warranty provider can turn down claims on parts a remap affects, such as the engine or gearbox.

Questions

Questions about an economy remap.

Straight answers, including why there's no price on this page.

Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp

How much is an economy remap?

There's no fixed price: we quote for your car, because the price is set by your car and engine, the ECU it uses, the gearbox, the car's condition and any previous modifications. Every car is different, so we don't publish prices. Send us your reg on WhatsApp and we'll quote for your car.

How much fuel will I save?

We don't promise a figure, because savings depend on the car, your routes and how you drive. When we quote, we tell you what's typical for your car.

Economy or Stage 1: which should I choose?

If you mostly want the car to feel stronger, look at Stage 1. If smooth driving and fuel use matter more, an economy remap is the one. Not sure? Ask us on WhatsApp.

Can you do an economy remap at my home or work?

Yes. With mobile remapping, we come to your home or work anywhere in London, with the same tools and the same checks as at Unit 11. Send your reg and postcode on WhatsApp and we'll confirm a time. Or bring the car to us at Unit 11, Wembley Park Business Centre, Wembley.

How long does it take?

We tell you how long it will take when we quote, so you can plan your day: it depends on the car and the work.

Will my car still pass its MOT?

A remap doesn't change the MOT test itself: the car still has to pass the same checks as any other car, including the emissions test. We do performance, economy and gearbox tuning only, set up for everyday driving. What the MOT checks.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. Please tell your insurer about any remap. Insurers treat a remap as a modification, so let yours know before the work is done, not after.

Will it affect my warranty?

It can: if your car is under a manufacturer or dealer warranty, the provider can turn down claims on parts the work affects, such as the engine or gearbox. Read your warranty terms before you book, and ask the provider if you're not sure.

Can it go back to standard later?

Yes, always. Every vehicle we remap can go back to standard. We keep a copy of your original file before we start, and even without it we can put the factory software back from our own large file database and dealer-level tools. More on putting a car back to stock.
